İbrahim Işık holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Arizona. He received his B.A. in Anthropology from Mardin Artuklu University and his M.A. from Istanbul Şehir University. His current research examines how authoritarian infrastructure management and regional development reconfigure sovereignty, statecraft, the environment, and everyday life in Turkey’s predominantly Kurdish southeast. His work has appeared in Current Anthropology, the Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, and Medical Anthropology Quarterly. His research has been supported by the Wenner-Gren Foundation and the American Ethnological Society.
