Sümeyye Yar, Ph.D., serves as the Associate Director of the Sakıp Sabancı Center for Turkish Studies at Columbia University. A graduate of Sabancı University, Dr. Yar earned her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University. She brings extensive experience in program management, education outreach, grants administration, and event organization. Dr. Yar is dedicated to advancing the Center’s mission of promoting knowledge and awareness of Turkey through research, teaching, and intellectual engagement.
