We are delighted to welcome Fatma Müge Göçek (University of Michigan) for a talk jointly organized by The Sakıp Sabancı Center for Turkish Studies & The Department of Sociology.

This talk will develop a comparative analysis of Turkey and the United States from the vantage point of violence as it is exercised on minorities, specifically on the Kurdish people in Turkey and Black Americans in the United States.
