Dimitar Bechev discusses Russia-Turkey relations, the bilateral crisis and Syria, whether bilateral relations are driven by institutions or by leaders, energy and geopolitics, and Turkey's NATO commitment.
Bechev is a Research Fellow for the Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the author of Rival Power: Russia in Southeast Europe (Yale University Press, 2017).
